Request for Information (RFI)

Purpose of RFI:

Request for information from potential suppliers/collaborators for solutions ranging from data monitoring software to SCADA systems for a first-of-its-kind, DC-connected, Battery-centric, plug-and-play microgrid project in Burlington, Ontario.

Project Description:

ARDA Power is currently installing a state-of-the-art microgrid demonstration system in a commercial/industrial building covering select loads. This building is the head office and manufacturing facility of Etratech Corporation in Burlington, Ontario.  The first phase includes a PV Plant, a natural gas generator, a long-duration flow battery, LED lights, DC air conditioner and refrigerator, and will be capable of operating on or off grid, and of providing ancillary services to the local utility. The system will be based on the ARDA DC Microgrid Platform, which is a combination of power and energy management controls, converters and smart DC breaker panels. More on our Projects

Current project collaborators on the Burlington Microgrid Project include Gildemeister energy storage and Burlington Hydro. Funding has been provided in part by Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC), as well as by contributions from collaborators.

Preliminary Scope:

• I/O server located onsite communicating with a single PLC (~200 tags).
• 3 x viewer clients able to access data via the internet using protected communications.
• Storage capability with access by clients via the internet, sampling between 10 and 60 second intervals with one year of data.
• Viewer access to customer configurable tables by tag and date and time.
• Plus services including programming, installation and training.

In addition we are interested in complementary software and hardware products including but not limited to SCADA systems.

Timing and Submission:

ARDA Power will provide priority review to RFI responses received on or before Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 6pm EST.
