Burlington DC Microgrid Blog 6: the 380VDC LED lighting is installed, Gildemeister Battery and Gas Generator concrete pad is ready

1/18/2017

The 380 VDC connected LED lights are installed and prewired to the electrical room where they will be connected to ARDA's smart DC breaker panel with integrated load management. Half of these lights will be connected between the positive and neutral, and the other half between the negative and neutral of ARDA's nominal +/-380VDC bus.

These LED lights will replace energy efficient metal halide lights in a portion of the Etratech's production area, and reduce peak lighting energy consumption in this section of the building by almost two thirds, while with our intelligent load management and dimming capability we expect even better results.

The LED lights were supplied by Nemalux, which designs and manufactures industry leading industrial and hazardous location LED lighting solutions. Go to www.nemalux.com to learn more.

The concrete pad is now ready to "welcome" Gildemeister flow battery as well as the gas generator unit: these boys can't wait to get out of the warehouse and start to demonstrate the future of building level microgrids.
