Oakville, Ontario ARDA Power today announced that it commenced commercial production of its proprietary Isolated High Boost DC Converter in early November. The converter is an important element of the company’s ARDA-Grid technology for use in distributed energy applications including solar, storage and fuel cell systems. “We are excited to announce commercial production of our Isolated High Boost DC Converter,” said Dr. Luis Zubieta of ARDA Power. “Commercial production and certification of the High Boost DC Converter will enable us to begin delivering power electronics solutions not only for solar applications but for other distributed energy applications including fuel cells and DC microgrids.”
“This is also an important step in commercializing our next generation Solar Plus Storage solution”, said Aleksey Toporkov of ARDA Power. “The Isolated High Boost DC Converter units being produced are incorporated into a Solar Plus Storage Solution that provides improved safety and higher performance on a cost effective basis. The first units will be shipped for installation in a large utility scale ground based solar system. About the Isolated High Boost DC Converter ARDA Power’s Isolated High Boost DC Converter, based on a unique resonant tank design, provides two key features critical to the Company’s ARDA-Grid technology based solutions: galvanic isolation of input energy sources and a wide range of boost/buck conversion ratios. Together this makes it possible to safely and efficiently connect low voltage DC sources to a constant high voltage DC link. About ARDA Power ARDA Power uses patented technology to provide the core functionality for a range of power electronics solutions targeted at the emerging and now rapidly growing market for distributed power generation. The Company’s ARDA-Grid technology provides a constant high voltage DC Grid to which DC sources and loads can connect across a wide range of input voltages, making system design and installation safer, more efficient, less complex and less expensive. ARDA-Grid based solutions are utilized in the Company’s Solar Plus Storage, Fuel Cell and DC Microgrid solutions.
