The Centre for Energy Advancement through Technological Innovation (CEATI) facilitates a Webinar on the topic of: Providing a Platform for DC-connected Microgrids for Utilities and Customers.

This webinar will provide a system overview of the battery-centric DC-connected platforms provided to
utilities and customers. The benefits directly addressed in this webinar will include:

• Managing the microgrid bus providing a common interface for DERs & loads.
• Reducing and/or eliminating the need for customization.
• DC resource coupling in the interests of increasing system efficiency.
• The simplification of the grid interface, and the reduction of impact on grid operation, as well as the execution of seamless islanding during grid failure.
• The benefits of DC-connected microgrids over AC-connected microgrids for utilities and customers.

This presentation will also provide several examples of working implementation system processes, executed in an industrial building located in Burlington, Ontario, which includes: a solar plant, a gas generator, storage, DC and AC loads, and the ability to support both grid-connected and off-grid operation, & services.
